(she/her/hers), Special Education Teacher
Willa is a dedicated special education teacher with 8 years of experience in the classroom supporting students with diverse learning, emotional, and behavioral needs. Prior to getting her special education degree from UW Madison, she spent many years working in early childhood. During this time she received training in Trauma Informed Care, as well as other brain-based education. Willa is passionate about creating learning environments where neurodiversity is celebrated, needs are met, and students are able to be wholly themselves. She strives to be an advocate for neuroaffirming practices that presume competence and encourage autonomy.
Willa lives in Oregon with her husband, son, and 2 step-daughters. She’s a nature-lover and in her free time she likes to garden, hike, and spend time outside with her family and pets. She also likes seeing live music.
