(she/her/hers), Special Education Teacher
My name is Karen and I am excited to join the team at Common Threads as an educator. I come to this position with over 30 years of teaching - how lucky am I that I found a career I continue to love after all these years! I have worked in a variety of settings including home based supports, community partnerships, Head Start, school districts and CESA2. My focus has always been on individual learners and their families. Most of this work has been done within Special Education support but I also have my regular education license and have taught 4K, 5K and lower elementary as the classroom teacher.
I live in Madison on the North Side with my family - my husband, two High Schoolers still at home & my oldest @ UW-Madison living on campus. We have 2 dogs who bring a lot of joy and dog hair into my life. I love to spend time outside, I love to read and I love to cook (when I have the time)!
