Dr. Wright – Director of School Services

Rachel Wright Jones, Ph.D. is the Director of School Services at Common Threads Family Resource Center.  She has served individuals of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Intellectual Disability (ID) for more than 15 years in various roles, from a 1:1 teaching assistant, to a lead teacher, and co-teacher, to serving as an ASD Specialist and consultant to school districts across the country, and designing and teaching courses for the Postsecondary Education Program at the University of Tennessee.    

Dr. Wright focused much of her Doctoral work at The University of Tennessee on using Augmented Reality and other emerging technologies as supports to increase independence in daily routines, improve situational outcomes in employment settings, and the overall quality of life for students with ASD and ID who are transitioning into adulthood.  She has established herself as among the leading experts through her publications regarding the applications of wearable and augmented reality technologies in the United States and presenting on both the national and international levels.
